IRT Surveys nominated for prestigious energy award

We were delighted to receive news of our nomination in the prestigious Sustainability Champions Awards, hosted by 2degrees.

Our nomination comes in the ‘Energy & Carbon Management – Short-Term’ category for our work with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations on its highly ambitious Carton Portal project.

Initially launched as a pilot in 2009, the project has grown to include 66 SFHA members and has seen 40,000 homes assessed with infrared thermography, allowing housing associations to prioritise refurbishment programs and take advantage of the relevant funding mechanisms.

Given the project started prior to the introduction of many energy regulations, IRT Surveys is particularly proud, as an SME, to have helped so many organisations plan for the future with unprecedented confidence and help thousands of Scottish homes win the battle with fuel poverty.

For instance, in the most recent phase of assessed homes, our images revealed average savings of £271 per home from changes to the building fabric alone.

Excitingly, the Sustainability Champions Awards are peer-voted, meaning you can vote for us by visiting the website. The winner will be announced at a special ceremony at Lord’s on July 10th.
