How local authorities can take advantage of Green Deal/ECO

Category: Discover & Diagnose Energy Inefficiencies

In our recent webinar with the Energy Saving Trust, we spoke live to almost 200 people on some of the issues that have resulted in the disappointing uptake of  Green Deal and ECO in 2013.

It’s an issue that was also discussed in depth in a recent Newsnight interview with Greg Barker, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change – and if you need any further evidence of the role thermal imaging has to play in reversing this then we suggest you take a look at the backdrop to that feature below!

The worrying figures have now prompted a range of Government reforms that aim to transform the ailing funding mechanisms’ fortunes.

Most interestingly, funding available to councils through Green Deal Communities could be increased from £20m to £80m this year in order to support street energy efficiency improvements.

Invitations are invited from Local Authorities across the country and expansion to the scheme represents a huge opportunity to bank funding for energy efficiency measures. To ensure your bid is successful, it is vital that you demonstrate innovation and impartiality while engaging property owners and tenants, businesses and homeowners in the reduction journey – and that’s precisely why thermal imaging is so important.

By providing visual and compelling images that clearly highlight energy loss and, with IRT Surveys’ patented Envision software, even quantify this loss in monetary terms, a thermal image tells its own story and allows for quick establishment of the true problem areas.

Furthermore, aggregated results and individual reports are all available at low cost to ensure your projects hit the ground fast and you can leverage Green Deal and ECO funding into your community. If you want more information then please do not hesitate to get in touch. We have offices across the UK and will respond to your enquiry quickly.

Meanwhile, the Government  confirmed that it plans to implement measures that will allow households to move from a quote to a Green Deal in a single day. Customers will also benefit from an online advisory tool and greater signposting to the most appropriate companies.
