Energy Performance Certificates – EPC

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a document which states the energy efficiency of a building. Each property is graded from A to G. (A is the best performance with lowest CO2 emissions). The estimated CO2 emissions from the building are the main focus of the energy performance certificate. The performance of the property is compared to current building standards and appropriate improvements recommended.

IRT Surveys are accredited under the BRE protocol body and cover the whole of the U.K.

If your property is in Scotland then there is only 1 type certificate known as an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). In England, Wales and Northern Ireland there are different types of Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), depending on the building type. These are known as EPCs for Domestic Properties, CECs for Commercial Properties and DECs for Public Buildings who must show this "Display Energy Certificate" in a prominent place.
