Claire Curtis-Thomas is the CEO of the British Board of Agrément (BBA) the U.K.’s leading Certification Body for the construction products sector. The BBA is supporting the work of the Bonfield review which is focussed on improving the confidence of the public in the insulation industry – the introduction of new assessment regimes is being actively supported by the BBA which is committed to driving up industry standards and driving out shoddy practices.
Graham Ellis is part-time Associate Director RICS Professional Groups at Westminster, working with members in developing a range of RICS Home Survey services and dealing with professional matters. He is also Director of Greenhouse Surveyors in Merseyside, consulting on residential property matters. These roles gives him a unique perspective and understanding of the issues and challenges facing surveyors and valuers in private practice. He is passionate about improving and promoting the role of the Chartered Surveyor in the residential market place for the benefit of consumers and fellow professionals and practitioners.
Sebastiaan van Dort, Senior Manager ECO & Warm Homes Discount at OVO Energy has a decade long track record in the UK energy and energy efficiency sector. He started his career at Quidos developing the Quidos Accreditation Scheme for energy assessors. Since then has worked at the coal face of Energy Efficiency Legislation helping to assess, fund and retrofit housing stock with some of the leading Local Authorities and Housing Associations.
Miranda Plouden, Business Development Director at South Yorkshire Housing Association, focusses on exploring how SYHA can deliver affordable housing more cost effectively, how housing can be part of the solution to the problems facing the UK’s health and social care system.
Stewart Little is CEO of IRT surveys ltd, an award-winning and market leading energy performance assessment company using infrared thermal imaging capabilities, providing impartial advice to building professionals, housing managers and portfolio owners. They have surveyed more than 250,000 houses and 12 million sqM of flat roof and analysed them for energy loss and constructions defects. Their bespoke software currently exploits data from more than 60,000 houses on behalf of housing providers for them to make informed energy efficiency decisions.
