Electronic Leak Detection

Electronic leak detection works on the principle that a waterproof membrane should act as an insulator. Any puncture or defective seam weld will allow a current, generated by the electronic leak detection equipment to be discharged.

When this occurs the equipment generates an audible tone alerting the surveyor to a possible defect in the area being tested. There are two types of electronic detection available- ELD (Dry Test) and ELLD (Wet Test)

On completion of the survey a certificate of integrity can be issued.
